Spring arrives as a gentle invitation. The earth softens, new shoots emerge, and light lingers a little longer each evening. All around us, the natural world leans toward renewal, toward growth and becoming once again.
This season mirrors our own lives, inviting us to renew our commitment to the path, reconnect with what matters most, and reorient the heart toward wisdom and care. The Buddha described this path as one that unfolds gradually, like the gentle slope of the great ocean. Transformation, like spring itself, rarely arrives all at once. It emerges through small, steady turnings of the heart and the quiet willingness to begin again.
During this half-day retreat, we will explore the Noble Eightfold Path through the wisdom factors of wise understanding and wise intention. Two brief Dhamma reflections will offer guidance and encouragement as we deepen practice together.
Through sitting and walking meditation, we will allow the living presence of spring to support our own intention of renewal. As we move through the grounds of the Friends Meeting House, we will listen with the body receiving teachings through birdsong, breeze, and the unfolding of green life. The season itself becomes a teacher, reminding us that growth often happens quietly, nourished by patience and care.
Held within noble silence and supported by spiritual friendship, this retreat offers a space to turn gently inward and remember that this path is not walked alone. Together, we step into the season of renewal.
